Victor H. Dupper

Victor H. Dupper, age 87, of New Dawn Health Care Center at Dover, died peacefully, Wednesday, January 18, 2012, following a period of declining health.A son of the late Earl and Nora Meek Dupper, Vic was born on December 9, 1924 at Uhrichsville.He was a member of the class of 1942 from the former Uhrichsville High School and served as a member of the United States Army. While serving his country, he was deployed as a medic in the European Theatre during World War II.On September 4, 1948 at Greenup, Kentucky Methodist Parsonage Vic married the former Beatrice Marie Winters. The couple reared one daughter and shared in 60 years of marriage prior to Marie’s passing on June 13, 2009.Vic spent his professional career which spanned more than three decades as an architectural draftsman, field representative and construction estimator for a number of area firms ultimately retiring from Raeder Construction at Dover.Known as a skilled woodworker to his family and friends, Vic enjoyed the time he spent in his home workshop.Survivors include his daughter, Mrs. Debra Kay (Kevin) Taylor of Michigan; three grandsons, Courtney (Katie) Taylor, Joshua Taylor and Darren Taylor; and a sister-in-law, Nancy Dupper of Dennison.Three great-grandchildren, Jack, Abigail and Emma as well as numerous nieces and nephews complete the family.In addition to his parents and wife, Vic was preceded in death by a sister, Verna Sandry and a brother, Donald Dupper.A private graveside service led by Pastor Mark Unrue will be held in the East Avenue Cemetery at New Philadelphia.Those wishing to share condolences with the family may do so by signing the online guest registry located on the funeral home’s website.Memorial contributions in Vic’s name may be directed to the Uhrichsville Presbyterian Church, PO Box 50, Uhrichsville, Ohio 44683.LINN-HERT-GEIB330-343-5506WWW.GEIBCARES.COM
