Vickie A. Griffith

Vickie A. Griffith, 65, of Barnhill, died Sunday, September 1, 2019 in Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital at Akron following a period of declining health.

Born in California, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Dale (Scott) Bassett and a graduate of the former Indian Valley North High School. Vickie had worked as a home health aide, had served as an EMT with the Midvale Volunteer Fire Department at Midvale and was a former treasurer for the Midvale VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Griffith and is survived by two daughters, Mari Ann (Rob) Hooper of Kimbolton and Holly (Eric) Filby of Uhrichsville; a son and his fiancé, Harvey Griffith and Brandy Mayle of Malvern; seven grandchildren, Trevor and Gavin Hooper, Bethany Griffith and E.J. Filby and Danielle, Roy and Macie Griffith; a sister, Tara (Paul) Leavers of Midvale and two brothers, Richard Bassett and his companion, Marie Pribbernow of Barnhill and Mark (Vickie) Bassett of Midvale.

In addition to her parents and her husband, a sister, Jean Cross and a brother, Todd Bassett, also precede her in death.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 5, 2019 from 5 to 8 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. In keeping with her wishes, and following the visitation, Vickie is to be cremated and a private burial will be held at a later date.
