Veronica Roth

October 8, 1962 — July 3, 2010

Veronica “Ronni” Roth, age 47, of New Philadelphia and Apex, North Carolina, passed away peacefully in her family home, early Saturday morning, July 3, 2010, following a courageous four year battle with cancer. Born at Dover, October 8, 1962, she was a daughter of Richard “Dick” Brown and the late Sandra Kay Clum Brown. A 1981 graduate of Tuscarawas Valley High School, Ronni attended Buckeye Career Center in the final years of high school. For the past ten years, Ronni was a familiar and friendly face at Lauren Manufacturing where she worked in the office as a production scheduler. She and her family treasured the friendships and support that she received from her colleagues at Lauren during her illness. Before joining Lauren, Ronni worked the previous fifteen years at Allied Machine & Engineering. Away from the office, Ronni loved to camp, especially in the past eight years as part of section 4 at Tappan Lake Park, where a community of campers came to know one another as family. She enjoyed passing time on warm summer days reading and working puzzles. She and her family were members of Sacred Heart Church, but attended the Church of Christ for the past year while residing at Apex, North Carolina. She’ll be sadly missed by her family, who in addition to her father of New Philadelphia, includes her husband of 28 years Thomas Roth of Apex, North Carolina and New Philadelphia, as well as her two sons; Michael (wife Krystal) Roth of Mineral City, and Richard (wife, Kimberly) Roth of Gnadenhutten. Within the past 15 months, Ronni was blessed with two grandsons, whom she loved and doted over; Logan and Landen Roth. Two sisters, Debra (husband James) Tucker of Strasburg, and Terri Brown and her companion Dorian Fulp, both of New Philadelphia, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law complete the family. Ronni’s family will receive friends Monday, July 5, from 2-4 and from 6-8PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Pastor Darrell Johnson will lead a service celebrating Ronni’s life Tuesday morning at 10:30 in the funeral home’s chapel. Interment will follow in Holmes Church Cemetery before family and friends gather for a reception in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 201 West Third Street, Dover, OH 44622, to the Veronica Roth Benefit Fund in care of the Dover-Phila Federal Credit Union, 119 Fillmore Avenue, Dover, OH 44622, or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
