Vernon C. Burrier, 87, of Stone Creek, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2003 at Union Hospital in Dover.Born November 29, 1915 in Oldtown Valley, he was the son of the late William and Florence Kugler Burier. He had retired as a Superintendent after forty years of service with the Stone Creek Brick Company in Stone Creek and had also formerly worked for the village of Stone Creek. Vernon was a veteran having served with the U.S. Army Air Corps at Luke Field in Arizona during W.W.II and was a member of the Grace United Church of Christ in Stone Creek and a former member of the American Legion.Survivors include his wife of Sixty-two years, Evelyn Sherretts Burrier; a daughter, Sharon (Richard) Fincher of New Philadelphia; two sons, Thom (Carole) Burrier of Gainesville, Georgia and Mark (Diane) Burrier of Zanesville; a brother, Clarence (Ruth) Burrier of Port Washington; a sister, Agnes (Bert) Varadi of Au Gres, Michigan; a brother-in-law, William Emig of Port Washington; two sisters-in-law, Gladys Burrier of Port Washington and Catherine Rausch of Sugarcreek; three grandchildren, Jason and Gabriel Fincher and Daphne (Jody) Skinner; three step-grandchildren, Skylar, Shauntae and Shaelynne Wolfe and two great grandchildren, Jacob and Isabella Skinner.An infant son, Vernon C. Burrier Jr.; a sister, Ruth Emig; two brothers, Eugene and Floyd Burrier; a sister-in-law, Bernice Reinhart and two brothers-in-law, Lewis Rausch and Rolan Reinhart are deceased.Funeral services will beheld Friday, March 28, 2003 at 11:00 AM at the Grace United Church of Christ in Stone Creek with Rev. Janet Matthews officiating. Burial will be at Stone Creek Cemetery in Stone Creek and a reception will be held in the church hall following the committal service. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 27, 2003 from 5 to 8 PM at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home in New Philadelphia. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Grace United Church of Christ, P.O. Box 97, Stone Creek, Ohio 43840.
