Vera M. Cox

Vera M. Cox, 91, of Dover and formerly of New Philadelphia, died Monday, March 06, 2006 in Country Club Retirement Campus at Dover.A daughter of the late John R. and Amanda (Ensley) Scott, Vera was born on July 20, 1914 in Roswell, Ohio.She attended Midvale High School and was a member of the New Philadelphia Eagles as well as a member of the New Philadelphia V.F.W.She is survived by her sister, Wilma (Bill) Fetters of New Philadelphia, nephew, Dick (Birdie) Rausch of New Philadelphia; niece, Jo Ellen Scott of New Philadelphia; several great nieces and great nephews and several half nieces and half nephews.Vera was preceded in death by her parents; her dear husband, William W. Cox; an infant son, Gary Lee Cox; two brothers Dixon Scott and his wife Marion and Merle Scott and his wife June; three half brothers, Lester Byers and his wife Laura, Delbert Byers and his wife Mona and Stanton “Jim” Byers and his wife Mary; one half sister Bessie Scott and her husband Roy and a special friend, Lou Dragish.Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 8, 2006 from 10 to 11 a.m. in Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Services will then be held at 11 a.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Chapel with Elder Rose Watkins Lomax officiating. Burial will follow in East Avenue Cemetery at New Philadelphia. Following the committal service, a memorial reception will be held in the Geib Family Center at New Philadelphia.
