Vera I. Allen, 87, of Zoar, went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 1, 2005. Born July 12, 1918, in Rosedale, Gilmer County, W. Va. She was preceded in death by her husband Eythel F. Allen in 2001.She was retired from Dover Molded Company, and was a member of the Canton Baptist Temple. Her hobbies were gardening and she was a wonderful quilt maker. She made quilts for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and her faithful companion Kit KatVera is survived by her daughter Nita (Wilbur) Hilbert of Mineral City, Ohio; son L. Parker (Violet) Allen of Mineral City, Ohio, four grandchildren Sherie (Victor) Clark of Carrollton, Ohio, Dawn Allen of Pataskala, Ohio, Heather (Bill) Rosenberger of Carrollton, Ohio, Darren (Emilene) Allen of Mineral City, Ohio and four great-grandchildren, Hailey and Madison Rosenberger and Tayler and Alexander Allen. Sisters Imogene Miller of Fresno, California, Laura P. Davies of Bolivar, Ohio. Brothers Roger Minney of Rustburg, Virginia and Forrest Minney of Kipton, Ohio.In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her Father Okey Dobbins, Mother Siller Bishop Dobbins Minney, Stepfather, Vessie Minney, and a brother S. Darrel Minney.Visitation will be Tuesday October 4, 2005 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Delaney Young of the Canton Baptist Temple, and the Rev. Christopher Rhodes of the Dover Baptist Temple officiating. Burial will be at Ridgecrest Memory Gardens in Dover, O.A reception will be held at the Geib Family Center in New Philadelphia following the committal service.Memorial contributions honoring Vera’s life may be made to, Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 201 West Third Street, Dover, Ohio 44622 and the Canton Baptist Temple, Nehemiah Fund, 515 Whipple Ave., N.W., Canton, Ohio, 44708-3649.
