Vera Dindo Maistrelli

Vera Dindo Maistrelli, 85, of New Philadelphia, died Tuesday, May 2, 2006, at Park Village Care Center in Dover.A daughter of the late Dominick and Pasqua “Esther” Cocco Dindo, Vera was born April 22, 1921, in New Philadelphia.She was a 1940 graduate of New Philadelphia High School and was retired from Buehler’s Foods where she had been employed for many years.She was active with the Tuscarawas County Kennel Club and enjoyed sharing her Welsh Corgi, “Mattie”, with the residents at area nursing homes. Vera was also an excellent seamstress, cook, and avid painter. For many years, Vera was a knowledgeable collector of antiques and could always be seen at area auctions. During the 1980’s she began attending luncheons with “the Golden Girls”, a group of former Woolworth employees. She also attended monthly reunion luncheons with fellow graduates of the NPHS class of 1940.She is survived by her loving husband, Eugene A. Maistrelli; whom she married, May 10, 1947, and with whom she would have celebrated 59 years of marriage; daughters, Linda (David) Agar, of New Philadelphia and Joyce (Daniel) Andrews, of Dover; grandsons, Logan Andrews, of Dover, Justin (Heather) Agar, of New Philadelphia and Nathan (Stacy) Agar, of Huntersville, N.C., and a great granddaughter, Whitney Agar, of Huntersville, N.C.Vera was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Angelo Marcaletti, who died April 7, 1945; a sister, Mary DeNicola and brothers, Gino, John and Tony Dindo.Friends and family are invited to visit with the family, Saturday, May 6, 2006, from 2:00 p.m. till 3:00 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory in New Philadelphia.
