Velma L. Truman, 78, of Dover, passed away suddenly in her residence on April 3, 2015.
Born August 24, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Charles G and Zedith P (Larkin) Truman. After completing her formal education, she began her professional career at Marlite. There, she worked more than 45 years in the accounting office.
Velma was an avid reader, a skilled knitter, and a collector of antique dishes. For many years, Velma was a dedicated volunteer with Community Hospice of Tuscarawas County, where she assisted with accounting and started the library with a donation of numerous books.
Her local family includes her cousins, Tim (Denise) Larkin of Dover and Frank Larkin of New Philadelphia.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Lela Truman and Faye Ernest.
Visitation will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia on Friday from 10 to 11. A service celebrating her life will immediately follow at 11 am in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in East Avenue Cemetery at New Philadelphia.
