Veda M Engeldinger

November 16, 1930 — April 7, 2012

Veda M. Engeldinger, 81, of New Philadelphia, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 7, 2012 in Hennis Care & Retirement Centre at Dover following a period of declining health.

A daughter of the late George and Frances (Walker) Couch, Veda was born November 16, 1930 at New Philadelphia, Ohio.

Veda was a member of the First Church of God at New Philadelphia where she was also a member of the Women’s Missionary.

She was an excellent homemaker and took great pride in caring for her family. She enjoyed cooking, baking, crafts and listening to Gospel music. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society.

She is survived by her sons, Steve (Tami) Engeldinger of Newcomerstown, John Pete (Myrna) Engeldinger of Louisville, Ohio and Robert (Susan) Engeldinger of Dover; her daughter, Kristi (Brad) Longacher of Parral; her grandchildren who lovingly referred to her as MiMi, Shauna, Eric and Alyssa Engeldinger, Bill and Mike Longacher, Amy and Lea Engeldinger and Mike Stocker; a sister, Eileen Turrin of New Philadelphia; a brother, Dale Couch of New Philadelphia, and many nieces and nephews.

Veda was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Gary Couch and a niece, Sherry Paris.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 13, 2012 from 1 to 2 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service celebrating Veda’s life will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Bob Johnston and Pastor Louise Worsham officiating. Burial will follow in East Avenue Cemetery at New Philadelphia. Following the committal service, a luncheon will be held in the fellowship hall of the First Church of God.

Veda’s family would like to express their gratitude to the Hennis Family and staff for their care and compassion during her time there.
