Treva M. Smith, 88, of Tuscarawas and formerly of Wainwright, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at 12:50 p.m. from Beacon Pointe Rehabilitation Center at Uhrichsville while surrounded by her loving family.A daughter of the late William Jones and Frances Waltz, Treva was born June 21, 1922 at Midvale, Ohio.Treva was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking for others. She spent her time watching soap operas during the day and was an avid wrestling fan. She liked sitting on the porch visiting with family and friends and spending time with her great-grandchildren. Treva will be missed dearly by everyone who knew and loved her.She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Smith of Tuscarawas; four grandchildren, Shawn Smith of Hillard, Ohio, Stacy (Roy) Lippencott of Gnadenhutten and Chenin and Justin both of Georgia and two great grandchildren, Logan and Jersey Lippencott both of Gnadenhutten.Completing the family are three sisters-in-law, Ellen Rowe and Shirley Haver both of Uhrichsville and Marjorie Smith of Wainwright; a brother-in-law, Donald Smith of Wainwright; step-sisters, Margaret Colletti, Mary King, Waneta Quillen and Vera Wilson all of Midvale; a step-brother, George Wilson of Midvale; a special niece, Sherry Rummes, who was like a daughter to her as well as several other nieces and nephews.Treva was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Floyd E. Smith, who passed away on January 19, 1975; a son, Floyd �Smitty� Smith; a sister, Edna Yenni; five brothers, Arnold Rowe, Delbert Haver, James Haver, Robert Haver and infant brother, Raymond Haver; a step brother, Donald Waltz; a step sister, Betty Creager; four sisters-in-law, Nancy Haver, Betty Smith, Sadie Beamer and Dorothy Reichman and two brothers-in-law, Frank and Andy Smith.The family will receive friends on Friday, November 5, 2010 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service celebrating Treva�s life will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Erik Cremeans officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia.
