Tracy Jo Caughey

Tracy Jo Caughey, 56, of New Philadelphia, passed away July 19, 2024 in the loving care of her sisters following a brief battle with cancer.

Born in Dover on February 5, 1968, she was the daughter of the late Jerry T. and Betty Ann (Rennicker) Ferren. After graduating from New Philadelphia High School, Tracy served as a dispatcher for the sheriff’s department, Newcomerstown Police Department, 911, and most recently the Wooster and Tuscarawas County Patrol Posts for the Ohio Highway Patrol. 

Tracy’s greatest joy was spending time with her family including her dear granddaughters. She also loved to play Bingo, work on crafts, and be at the ocean. She had a deep and unique bond with her sisters, too. 

Tracy’s family includes her son, James Adam (Justina) Caughey; grandchildren, Allyson and Peyton Caughey; sisters, Jody (Jerry) Carpenter, Jerrie (Michael) Dunkle, Susan (Rodney) Miller, Rose Haney and Sherry Ferren; best friend, Pam Outman; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Visitation will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia on Thursday, July 25 from 4 to 7 p.m. A service celebrating Tracy’s life will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Cindy Moralez officiating. Burial will follow in Dover Burial Park alongside Tracy’s parents.
