Tommie Meyers-Palmer

Tommie Allyn Meyers-Palmer, age 10, of Tuscarawas, died Monday, February 22, 2016, as a result of injuries sustained following a four wheeler accident.

Born in Union Hospital at Dover on August 1, 2005, Tommie, who was named in honor of her grandpa, is the beloved daughter of Bill and Tonya (Meyers) Palmer of Tuscarawas.

Tommie was known for her infectious smile, her ornery mannerisms, and making others smile and laugh. She was loved by all who had the opportunity to meet her. Having never met a stranger, from a young age she could strike up a conversation with anyone in her path. She enjoyed playing volleyball and softball, and being with her friends at the Tuscarawas Central Catholic Elementary.

Above all, her life revolved around her family, whether it was supporting her big sister at various school events or spending the weekend camping and riding four wheelers, Tommie was truly in her element when they were all together.

In addition to her parents, Tommie will be deeply missed by her sister, Maranda; her grandparents, Tom Meyers of Goshen and William A. and Diane Palmer, Jr.; her great-grandparents, Doris Schumacher of Goshen, Evelyn “Dolly” Palmer of Tippecanoe, and Louise Harding of Freeport.

Completing the family are her aunt, Dawn (David) Meyers-Anderson of Wisconsin; her uncle, Brad (Veronica) Palmer of Texas; her cousins, Alex and Noah Palmer as well as numerous great-aunts and uncles and their families.

Tommie was preceded in death by her grandma, Sandy Meyers; and her great-grandparents, Oliver Meyers, Ned Schumaker, William A. Palmer, Sr., Robert Harding, Herbert and Mary Widdoes.

The family will greet guests on Thursday, February 25, 2016 from 1-3 and 5-8 PM in Saint Joseph Catholic Church at Dover where a Christian Wake service will begin at 8 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held in the church on February 26, 2016, at 10:30 AM with Fr. Jimmy Hatfield presiding and concelebrated by Fr. Tyron Tomson and Fr. Jeff Coning. A meal and fellowship will follow in the Parish Hall.
