Tim E. Zahner, age 38, or Zoarville, died unexpectedly in Aultman Hospital at Canton, on Sunday, April, 24, 2011.One of five sons born to the late Bob and Marilyn Lorenz Zahner, Tim and his twin brother, Todd were born at Joel Pomerene Hospital on February 23, 1973.Tim was raised on the family farm in Sugarcreek and was a 1991 graduate of Garaway High School. For the past 14 years, he has been employed by the Superior Dairy Company at Canton where he worked as in the shipping department on the loading docks. Where there was an avenue to provide comic relief in any situation, Tim was sure to find it and take great advantage of the opportunity. He enjoyed life and making those around him happy and had mastered the art of being the life of the party. It mattered not to Tim if he were at home, at work, or at play; someone was going to become victim to his ornery personality. He was a consummate practical joker and loved to pick on others in a fun and spirited way. He was merciless when it came to taunting others, including his brothers, friends, co-workers and even supervisors. But those who knew Tim best knew that was his way of showing love and support. When it came to professionalism at work, Tim, while remaining the practical joker, always understood there was a time and a place for such behavior and kept a strong work ethic and maintained proper safety protocol which others followed and dared to rival. He was a natural leader who was revered by his peers. In his spare time, Tim enjoyed being a “gear head” and was always trying new ideas to make, everything from his lawnmower, to his dirt bike, and his motorcycle go faster and become more powerful. He knew he had successfully achieved his goal when he was able to pull a wheelie on his vehicle and ride it in that manner for a period of time. Additionally, he found great joy in spending and sharing time with his friends and trap shooting. With his wife, the former Tricia Geib, whom he married on September 4, 2001, at Maui, Hawaii, at his side the couple enjoyed hosting friends at their Zoarville home and spending time four wheeling. In addition to his beloved wife, Tricia, Tim’s memory and zeal for life will forever live on in those he leaves behind; four brothers; Ken (Kim) Zahner of Tiffin, Ohio, Fred (Stephanie) Zahner of Sugarceek, Ted (Christina) Zahner of Galena, Ohio, and his twin, Todd (Amy) Zahner of Fresno, Ohio; a brother-in-law, Greg (Sandy) Geib; and a father-in-law and mother-in-law, Glenn and Patricia Geib all of New Philadelphia.Three uncles, George Zahner, whom Tim thought of as a second father, Ruben (Pat) Lorenz of Dover, and Larry (Verla) Lorenz of Massillon; an aunt, Carolyn (Tom) Border of Navarre, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins complete the family. In addition to his parents, Tim was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Henry and Dorothy Zahner; his maternal grandparents, Bernard and Viola Lorenz; an uncle, James Zahner; and a close cousin, Richard Zahner.Friends are invited to gather with the family through public visitation on Thursday, April 28, 2011, from 2:00 â?? 4:00 PM and 6:00 â?? 8:00 PM in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover. Pastor Matt Roe will lead a service celebrating Tim’s life in the Dover funeral center on Friday, April 29, 2011, at 10:30 AM. Burial in Jerusalem Church Cemetery will follow. Following services, the family wishes to invite guests to join them in the social hall of Jerusalem Church where a meal and fellowship will be shared. Those unable to attend may send the family personal condolences by signing the online guest registry located on the funeral home’s website.Memorial Contributions in Tim’s name may be directed to Community Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 201 W Third Street, Dover, Ohio 44622.
