Thomas Spence

Thomas Allen Spence, 74, of Bolivar, Ohio, passed away on September 29, 2015 at Aultman Compassionate Care Center after a brief battle with cancer.

Tom was born in Germano, Ohio on August 11, 1941 to the late Wayne and Frieda (Alberta) Spence. He graduated from Jewett High School and served his country in the United States Army from 1962 to 1965. Tom was employed at Republic / LTV Steel until his retirement in 2002.

Throughout his life, Tom was passionate about golfing and bowling, participating in multiple leagues. He was devoted to his family and enjoyed spending leisure time with both family and friends.

Tom was preceded in death by his brother, Fred, and his first wife of 33 years, Karen (Little), and survived by their two children, Chris (Michelle) Spence of Poland, and Tracey (Darrell) Terry of Bolivar. He is also survived by his second wife, Mary (Burkhart) of Bolivar, whom he wed on February 23, 2000, and her sons Ronald (Katharine) Kerr of Plainfield, IN, Dr. Robert Kerr of Irvine, CA, and Thomas (Amy) Hood of Cleveland. Tom is also survived by two brothers; Donald of Palm Desert, CA, and Larry of Oakley, CA, and one sister; Jane Watson of Walnut Creek, CA. Tom has 5 grandchildren; Tyler Terry, Tiffany Kerr, Alexis Kerr, Alexander Kerr, Kayleigh Kerr, and one great-granddaughter, Lila Terry.

Friends may call on Saturday, October 3rd from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Geib Funeral Center, 5600 North Wooster Ave, Dover, OH 44622.
