Thomas Lee Meese, age 59, of Naples, Florida, and formerly of New Philadelphia, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2007, following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born January 29, 1948, at Dover, he was a son of Ruth M. Thomas Meese, who resides at Dover, and the late Millard F. Meese. Tom was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in Vietnam. He was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous Â? having been sober for nearly fifteen years by the grace of God. Through his A.A. affiliation, he has helped hundreds gain sobriety Â? and will be sadly missed by his friends in the group. In addition to his mother, Tom leaves behind two brothers, M.A. Pede (wife Jean) Meese of New Philadelphia, and John Meese (friend Todd Zoscak) of Florida. Two nieces, Shelley Harmon and Shelly’s daughter and son, Emily and Travis, all of New Philadelphia, and Pam (husband Tim) Anderson and their son Seth, all of Dennison. Tom will be sadly missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins and two special friends, Peggy Fitzpatrick and Ricci Stavole, both of Naples, Florida. Tom’s family will hold private services Saturday.
