Thomas Lee Hupp, age 62, of New Philadelphia, died Wednesday, March 11, 2009, in Union Hospital at Dover.A son of the late George Hupp and Helen (Blackwell) Hupp Davis, Tom was born in his family’s home at New Philadelphia on May 10, 1946.His family later relocated to California where Tom attended Canoga Park High School prior to being drafted into the United States Marine Corps. While serving, he was stationed in Vietnam and obtained the rank of Lance Corporal. Following the service, Tom relocated back to New Philadelphia where he worked as a machinist for Marlite and the former Shenango Company. For a period of time, he also operated his own business as a locksmith.Tom’s many passions in life included riding his Harley motorcycle, being a CB and HAM Radio operator, and enjoying time in his home studio as an avid self-taught guitarist. He was also a Lifetime Member of the Ohio Valley RC Club.Surviving are two daughters, Angela (David) Wallace of New Philadelphia and Daniella Hupp of the home; two granddaughters, Sheyienna Hupp and Shenoah Wallace of New Philadelphia; and his former wife, Karen Rose of New Philadelphia.Three brothers, Donald Hupp of New Philadelphia, Dean Davis of Dover, and Fred Davis of Rhode Island; Four sisters, Charlene Espenschied of Wainwright, Gaye Stockwell of Burbank, California, Beth Kaiser of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Julene Graham of New Philadelphia; as well as numerous nieces and nephews complete the family.In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by a sister, Janet Ranta.In keeping with Tom’s wishes, he will be cremated through the care of Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory at Dover. Reverend Hugh B. Berry will hold an 11:00 AM graveside service on Tuesday, March 17, 2009, in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens at Dover. The Carl C. Stoller Post 1445 of the New Philadelphia VFW will render Military Honors.
