Thomas E. Korns

Thomas E. Korns passed away July 3, 2023 at the age of 75. 

Born in Dover, Ohio on May 24, 1948, he was the son of the late Raymond Korns and Rose (Snyder) Latham. 

Tom was a 1968 graduate of New Phila High School.  He retired from the Tuscarawas Water and Waste Water District in 2010.  He loved many sports and enjoyed bowling and listening to country music.  For many years, he collected Hot Wheels and had a very large collection.  However, his favorite past time was his grandchildren.  Tom had a very strong faith and was a member of Broadway Global Methodist Church.  He was also a lifetime member of New Phila Elks B.P.O.E. #510. 

In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his son, Thomas J. and three brothers, Raymond “Dale”, William, and Edward.

On October 7, 1967 he married his high school sweetheart, the former Cheryl Wertman with whom he enjoyed 55 years.  In addition to Cheryl, he is survived by his daughter, Tiona (Todd) Campbell; his two granddaughters, Tori and Taryn Campbell; his grandson, Tyler Korns; and his siblings, Mike, Henry, Terry, Carol and Sally; as well as a large extended family.

A memorial visitation will be held in the South Broadway Global Methodist Church on Friday, July 14, 2023 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. with a service celebrating his life beginning at 11:30 a.m. A luncheon will immediately follow the service in Spencer Hall at the church.
