Thomas W. Koller, 84, of New Philadelphia passed away Sunday, August 13, 2017 in the care of Community Hospice at New Philadelphia.
The son of Walter and Mildred (Baker) Koller, Thomas was born May 28, 1933 at Canton, Ohio.
Thomas served his country in the United States Army for 2 years, from 1953 to 1955. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal for his contribution to his country. Upon his discharge, he worked for Union Metal until his retirement after over 30 years of service as a machinist.
He attended the First Christian at New Philadelphia and enjoyed woodworking, fishing and traveling. His biggest joy in life was his family, whom he loved spending time with.
Thomas is survived by his wife Grace (Hicks) Koller, whom he married April 13, 1979; three daughters, Lisa Kelly, Tammy (Bob) Kneppelt, and Annette D. Koller; 4 grandchildren, Bryce and Brody Kelly and Ethan and Jennie Kneppelt as well as 4 siblings, Margaret (Don) Scheufler, Rita (Don) Clapsaddle, Emma Lou Sanders and Rose Mary Scott.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son-in-law, Ron Kelly and five siblings, Johnny, Leo and Dick Koller, Mary Anne Kelly and Terry Rex.
Visitation will take place Thursday, August 17, 2017 from 5 to 7 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory. A service celebrating Thomas’ life will follow at 7 PM in the funeral home’s chapel with Pastor Brian Flood officiating.
Memorial contributions in Thomas’ memory may be directed towards the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478 Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
