Thomas G. Pollock, 83, of New Philadelphia, went home to be with his Lord and wife on Thursday, January 16, 2014 in the Community Hospice House following a period of declining health.
Born in Coshocton County on December 18, 1930, he was the son of the late Frank R. and Leora (Loos) Pollock.
After graduating from Newcomerstown High School, Tom honorably served in the US Air Force from 1951 to 1955. He served in the Korean Conflict in Korea with the supply squadron.
Professionally, Tom worked for Ohio Power/AEP for more than 42 years until his retirement in 1991.
An avid card player and golfer, Tom was a member of the Dover Eagles, the New Philadelphia VFW Post #1445, the Moose Club in Uhrichsville, and the B.P.O.E. #510.
On October 24, 1964, Tom married his lifelong companion and friend, the late Joan Pollock, who preceded him in death on Christmas Day 2013.
Tom is survived by his daughters, Connie (Steven) Limbacher of Stone Creek and Gayle (Ed) Batson of Florida; his grandchildren, Laura (James) Coleman, Joshua (Mindy) Limbacher, Joan Belair, and Paul (Sindy) Belair; his sister-in-law, Helen (Earl) Garver of Dresden; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to Tom’s parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Frank R. II and William Craig Pollock.
A graveside service will be held in South Lawn Cemetery in Coshocton on Tuesday, January 21 beginning at 10:30 a.m. where military honors will be rendered.
