Thomas Edward Stull

Thomas Edward Stull, 66, of New Philadelphia, died Friday, July 22, 2011 in Schoenbrunn Health Care at New Philadelphia following a period of declining health.A son of the late Samuel and Julia (Nupp) Stull, Tom was born November 15, 1944 at Harrison County, Ohio.Tom graduated from Midvale High School in 1962. During his youth, he worked as a farm hand on the Glen Wardell Farm just outside of New Philadelphia. Later on, Tom went to work at Republic Steel and retired after 42 years of service.He was an avid outdoorsman who especially enjoyed fishing and gardening. Tom also enjoyed watching western films with John Wayne being his favorite actor.He is survived by his former wife, Carol Stull of Bolivar; his children, Carol Lynn (Rick) Morrison of Deersfield, Ohio, David Stull of Dundee, Sondra (Joseph) Haney of New Philadelphia, Sharon Stull of Newcomerstown, Shannon Watson of Dover, Nicole (Matthew) Miller of Dundee, Julia Shaffer of Massillon and Priscilla Stull of Bolivar; a step daughter, Stephanie Kearns of New Waterford; 15 grandchildren; four step grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two sisters, Ethel (Rick) Masters and Wynnona Smitley both of New Philadelphia; two brothers, Sammy and Larry Stull both of New Philadelphia and a sister-in-law, Carol Stull of Flushing, Ohio.Tom was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Delores and three brothers, John, David and Billy.The family will receive friends on Monday, July 25, 2011 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service celebrating Tom’s life will be held on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Hugh Berry officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Cemetery at Dover.
