Thomas Daniel Cox, 61, of New Philadelphia, died November 2, 2006, in his residence with his loving wife by his side, after a year and a half battle with cancer.Thomas was born at Dennison, on July 30, 1945, to the late John Lincoln and Margaret Jane Wilson Cox. In 1964, Thomas graduated from Uhrichsville High and upon graduation entered the United States Air Force. Thomas was a machine operator at Hercules Engine in Canton, Ohio, for twenty-seven years. He was also a truck driver for ten years at B-Right Trucking. Thomas was a member of the Knights of Columbus where he was an Officer of the State Council, a 3rd Degree member of the New Philadelphia Council, and a 4th Degree member of the Dennison Council. He was also a member of the Tusco RC Club. Thomas enjoyed model planes and was a huge N.A.S.C.A.R. fan.He is survived by his wife, Sandra, whom he married on August 22, 1970; sisters, Linda (John) Popick of Atwood Lake area, Victoria (Dave) Behra of Barnhill, Ohio; and beloved cat, Storm.Friends are invited to call on Sunday, November 5, 2006, from 2:00-5:00 pm in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia, where Christian Wake service will be held at 5:00 pm. Msgr. George J. Schlegel will celebrate Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, November 6, 2006, at 10:00 am in Sacred Heart Catholic Church at New Philadelphia. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Burial Park. Following the committal service, a reception will be given for family and friends in the St. Ambrose Hall.Memorial contributions to honor Mr. Cox’s life may be sent to Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 201 W. Third Street, Dover, Ohio 44622.
