Theodore Raymond Boitnott

October 9, 1936 — March 17, 2013

Theodore Raymond Boitnott Sr., 76, of Gnadenhutten, died Sunday, March 17, 2013 in Aultman Hospital at Canton.

A son of the late Homer and Daisy (Johnson) Boitnott, Ted was born October 9, 1936 in Old Town Valley.

On December 31, 1955, Ted married the former Thelma Striker and the couple raised four children, Thelma, Ted Jr., Bruce and Beverley.

Ted, along with Thelma, was the longtime owners and operators of Ted’s Bar at Stone Creek. He was also formerly a truck driver for Dover Contractors. Ted was a member of the Tuscarawas V.F.W and he enjoyed working on his lawnmowers.

He is survived by his wife, Thelma Boitnott; his children, Thelma Lanzer of New Philadelphia, Ted (Terri) Boitnott Jr. of Uhrichsville, Bruce Boitnott of Dover and Beverley Trambaugh of Roswell; 10 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild and two brothers, Homer Boitnott of Dover and Dean (Glenda) Boitnott of Stone Creek.

Ted was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Ernie, Helen, Shirley, Connie, Bryant and Mildred and a son-in-law, Jeff Lanzer.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service celebrating Ted’s life will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Brian Flood officiating. Burial will follow in East Avenue Cemetery at New Philadelphia.
