Thelma Elizabeth Edie, 89, of New Philadelphia, died Tuesday, February 27, 2007, at her residence.A daughter of the late Frank and Clara (Page) Newton, Thelma was born in Midvale on February 16, 1918. In 1936, Thelma graduated from Midvale High School. On February 20, 1939, Thelma married Gerald L. Edie. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Restored in Dover.In addition to her parents, Thelma was preceded in death by her son, Ronnie G. Edie, three sisters and one brother.She is survived by her husband of 68 years Gerald; children, Diane (Steve) Hamm of Wooster, Ohio, Richard Edie of New Philadelphia; grandchildren, Shawn (Katy) Edie of Cadillac, Michigan, DeeDee (Jerry) Fetters of Canton, Ohio, Kristy (Keith) Hodkinson of Wooster, Ohio, and Shannon (Steve) Tatom of Avon, Indiana; great grandchildren, Chloe Tatom, Charisa Joy Fetters, Collin Edie, Stephen Harkleroad, and Caitlin Harkleroad; great-great grandchild, Jocelyn Elise Cross; daughter-in-law, Myrna Edie of Greenfield, Indiana; and four sisters.Friends are invited to call Saturday, March 3, 2007, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. in the Linn-Hert Geib Funeral Home.Chaplin David Lorah and Elder Don Levengood will lead Mrs. Edie’s funeral service on Saturday, March 3, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. in the Linn-Hert Geib Chapel at New Philadelphia.
