Terry E. Mahaffey, age 75, of New Philadelphia, died Wednesday, March 26, 2025, in Aultman Specialty Select Hospital at Canton.

Born in Dover, Ohio, on May 11, 1949, Terry was a son of the late Walter L. and Virginia L. Lee Mahaffey.

On July 4, 1992, he married the former Mary Fortney and have celebrated nearly 33 anniversaries. Professionally, Terry worked for ProVia at Sugarcreek for 25 years. He was also employed by the former Endres Floral, where he worked as a floral cutter.

Terry was an avid fisherman who enjoyed camper camping, caring for his dogs, working on cars, mowers, and golf carts, and spending time with his grandchildren and family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his family which includes his children, Claudia (Bruce) Smythe, a son, Terry (Sammi) Mahaffey, Crystal (Jeff) Stroup, Shannon (Chris) McCoy, Holly (Jason) Cugini, and Tim Bloomfield, a sister, Cheryl (Dwayne) Yoder; 17 grandchildren, an expected great-granddaughter, and his nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Terry was preceded in death by a son, Michael Mahaffey, and a stillborn brother, Gary Mahaffey.

The family will greet guests one hour prior to services on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, from 10 – 11 AM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia, where Pastor Todd Gopp will lead a service celebrating Terry’s life at 11 AM. Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery at Dover.
