Taylor Renee Bird

Taylor Renee Bird, 10 1/2, of Dover died Thursday, September 22, 2005 at Akron Children’s Hospital surrounded by her family, friends and staff members of the hospital who loved her dearly.A daughter of Richard and Mary (Murphy) Bird, Taylor was born February 25, 1995 in Akron, Ohio.Taylor, who was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in New Philadelphia, touched the lives of the many people who she came in contact with. She will be remembered by her family as a princess and with all that she endured during her short life, she only knew how to love.She enjoyed cooking and having parties. Taylor especially enjoyed dressing as a princess and wearing her bracelets, which she loved dearly, in order to put on tea parties and bear parties.She is survived by her loving parents, Richard and Mary of Dover; maternal grandmother, Norma Murphy of New Philadelphia; paternal grandmother, Alice Llewellyn of Mesquite, Nevada; paternal great-grandmother, Mary Chaney of New Philadelphia; uncles and aunts, Shawn (Karen) Murphy of Dover, Tim Murphy of New Philadelphia, Julie Murphy of New Philadelphia, Jim (Kim) Bird of New Philadelphia and Kathy (Bill) Shryock of New Philadelphia; and many cousins, special friends and the staff at Akron Children’s Hospital who watched over her during her stay there.Taylor was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Donald Murphy; paternal grandfather, James Bird; paternal step-grandfather, Jack Llewellyn; paternal great-grandfather and her maternal great-grandparents.In keeping with the family’s wishes, services for Taylor will be private. A public celebration of life, however, will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2005 at 11:30a.m. in the fellowship hall of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 202 East High Avenue, New Philadelphia.The family asks that memorial contributions be made in Taylor’s name to Akron Children’s Hospital, One Perkins Square, Akron, OH 44308 and/or Ron McDonald House, 245 Locust Street, Akron, OH 44302 and/or the Taylor Bird Memorial Fund, c/o Indian Village Community Bank, 635 West High Avenue, New Philadelphia, OH 44663
