Taylor Dean Renicker, age 22, of New Philadelphia, died Tuesday, January 27, 2015, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
A beloved son of Terry Renicker and Connie Verhovec Renicker both of New Philadelphia, Taylor was born in Mercy Medical Center at Canton on May 3, 1992.
During his intermediate years, Taylor was a member of Boy Scout Troop 84 and enjoyed playing sports, specifically, baseball and football. He was a 2010 graduate of New Philadelphia High School and attended Buckeye Career Center’s Adult Education program, where he studied to be a utility lineman.
For a period of time, Taylor was employed by Thayer Power and Communications and was a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 70. Most recently, Taylor was accepted in the American Line Builders Apprenticeship Training and was excited to further his career.
Taylor’s love for the outdoors extended beyond lineman work, he greatly enjoyed fishing, hunting squirrels and rabbits, dirt bike riding, and hunting mushrooms. He also loved being with his family and friends, attending Cleveland Indians games, and working alongside his girlfriend as they created outdoor painting scenes on canvas.
In addition to his parents, Taylor is survived by his brother, Kevin Renicker of New Philadelphia; his girlfriend and love of his life, Shandi Wengerd of New Philadelphia and her parents and siblings, Ivan and Denise Wengerd and Meghan and Cameron Wengerd of Strasburg; maternal grandparents, Joe and Phyllis Verhovec; paternal grandparents, Dean Renicker and Elizabeth Jenkins; and his mother’s companion, Bob Graham all of New Philadelphia.
Taylor leaves behind his aunts and uncles, Kim (Dan Mosti) Fadeley of New Philadelphia, Dianne (Dan) Ryan of Kentucky, and Jeff Verhovec of Woodsfield, Ohio. While he was especially close to his cousins, Kain, Logan, and Hannah, his extended family includes numerous other cousins whom Taylor loved as well.
Preceding Taylor in death was an uncle, Joe Fadeley.
The family will greet guests on Sunday, February 1, 2015 from 1-5 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia where a candle light service of remembrance will conclude the visitation at 5PM. Private burial will take place in the East Avenue Cemetery.
