T. Jane Randolph

T. Jane Randolph, age 92, of New Philadelphia died Saturday, October 13, 2018 while in the care of Community Hospice’s Truman House at New Philadelphia.

Born on February 21, 1926, Jane was a daughter of the late Herbert C. and Violet V. Strickmaker Eckert. She was a 1945 graduate of New Philadelphia High School and married James R. Randolph on October 17, 1948. The couple shared in 39 years of marriage prior to J.R.’s passing on December 26, 1987.

Jane was an avid cat lover and for many years supported the Cats-N-Us shelter now part of the Tuscarawas County Humane Society. Jane enjoyed feeding the birds and deer around her home and enjoyed watching them from her window. She also enjoyed keeping up-to-date and knowing what was going on in the lives of her neighbors.

She is survived by two nephews, David Eckert of New Philadelphia and Lanny Eckert of Dover; a cousin, Pat Breehl of Canton; and close friends, Ellen Matics of Dover, Danelle Roberts of Stone Creek, Mary Rose Beans and Roger Holcomb both of New Philadelphia.

In addition to her parents and husband, Jane was preceded in death by her brothers, Dale and Max Eckert.

In keeping with Jane’s wishes there will be no public visitation or services. Private burial will take place alongside her husband in East Avenue Cemetery at New Philadelphia.
