Sylvia M. Boyer

Sylvia M. Boyer, 77, passed away unexpectedly Monday evening, September 22, 2003 in her home.Sylvia was born February 19, 1926 in Spencer, WV, a daughter of the late Minter J. and Addie Parrell Tanner. Formerly of Columbus, Sylvia had been a resident of New Philadelphia since 1986. She retired after 36 years of service from The White Castle System of restaurants as a district supervisor. After her move to New Philadelphia she worked as a greeter at K-Mart for five years.She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward A. Boyer, on July 14, 1977. Sylvia is survived by her only child, daughter Mary Vick of New Philadelphia and her two loving grandchildren, Angela Vick and Ryan Vick. Also surviving are two sisters, Florence (Otis) West of Spencer, WV and Irleen Bull of Richmond, VA as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, DeWitt Tanner and a sister, Garnet Crawford.Friends may join the family for visitation in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
