Sylvia E. Fiddler, 95, of New Philadelphia, went home to be with the Lord, her sweet Jesus, on Sunday, February 19, 2017 from Community Hospice House at New Philadelphia.
A daughter of the late John and Maime (Chaney) Shear, Sylvia was born January 2, 1922 at Dover, Ohio.
Sylvia retired from East Sparta Ceramics after 20 years of service and she was a member of Life Way Church at New Philadelphia.
She will be deeply missed by her family which includes her daughters, Beverly Ferris of New Philadelphia and Marie McCulloch of Vero Beach, Florida; her grandchildren, Rick (Lois) Ferris, Sandy (Lee) Anderson and David McCulloch; eight great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Menapace and Audrey (Neal) Salinsky both of Strasburg and a brother, Kenny (Peggy) Shear of New Philadelphia.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence Fiddler whom she married on November 22, 1958; four sisters, Valeria, Bea, Iona and Norma; four brothers, Max, Loren, Dean and John and a son-in-law, Richard Ferris.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 24, 2017 from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service celebrating Sylvia’s life will follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Larry Fletcher officiating. Burial will follow in German Cemetery.
