Susan L. Menapace, 70, of Dover, Ohio passed away unexpectedly at her home on October 2, 2024.
Born March 5, 1954, in Sidney, Ohio, Susan will be greatly missed by her loving parents, Tom and Pauline (Aschenbach) Watkins, whom still reside in Sidney, Ohio. Susan was the eldest of four siblings and is survived by Marianne (Joe) Antram, Mark (Susannah) Watkins, and Sarah (Rick) Steenrod, all of their children and grandchildren as well as her brother-in-law Kim (Char) Menapace. No sister could have ever been loved more than Susan was by her siblings, and she will be forever missed.
Susan graduated from Sidney High School on June 4, 1972 and went on to attend Kent State University. While at Kent State, Susan met her loving husband of 49 years, Joel Menapace. The two would move on to have three daughters Stephanie Blake, Tina (Cody) Kaderly, and Angela (David) Dennison. She would instill in them her greatest traits, and she will never stop being loved or remembered by them as they do their best to now instill those same traits into their own children, Susan’s grandchildren. Pippa Blake, Evelyn Blake, Calliana Kaderly, and Dru Dennison will miss her the most. Susan was a wonderful wife, daughter, sister, mother, and friend to many, but she was the best at being Grandma Sue.
Susan passed peacefully, sitting quietly in her favorite spot next to her garden, enjoying the cool morning air and warm morning sun. Susan did not want any formal services, but a donation can be made in her name to Ohio’s Hospice Truman House, 716 Commercial Ave SW, New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
Susan would want everyone to have the opportunity to pass as tranquilly as she was able to, surrounded by all the things and people she loved.
