Susan K. Cox, 69, of Dover, passed away in Mercy Medical Center on Sunday, October 13, 2013.
Born in Dover on October 1, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Minnie (Pfiester) Hilton.
Susan was a loving mother and grandmother and greatly enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. In addition to being a homemaker, she also enjoyed her employment at Hecks as a cashier.
Her faith was nurtured at the First Presbyterian Church in New Philadelphia. Additionally, she greatly enjoyed walking, bicycling, and tending to her flower gardens around her home. Susan was also a lifelong Cleveland Indians fan.
She will be deeply missed by her children including William (Sarah) Miller of New Philadelphia, Matthew Miller of New Philadelphia and Michael (Melissa) Miller of Rocky Mount, North Carolina; her sister, Helen Chitti of Kentucky; her brothers, Charles Hilton of Lakeland, Florida, and Herman Hilton of Gnadenhutten; her grandchildren, Andy and Lindsey Miller, and Kendra and Kaelynn Miller; and her former husband, Johnny Miller. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins complete the family.
In addition to her parents, Susan was preceded in death by her companion of 10 years, Philip Paull.
Visitation will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia on Thursday, October 17 from 5 to 7 p.m. A service celebrating Susan’s life will be held in the funeral home’s chapel on Friday beginning at 10:30 a.m.
Following the service, friends and family are invited to the Geib Family Center, located adjacent to the funeral home, where a meal will be shared.
