Susan J. Gasser

Susan J. Gasser, age 51, of Dover, passed away Friday, May 9, 2008, in Aultman Hospital at Canton surrounded by her loving family following a brief illness.Born at La Jolla, California, March 27, 1957, Susan was a daughter of Dr. Kenneth E. and Rose Ann (Gerber) Gasser, who survive and reside at Dover.A 1975 graduate of Dover High School, Susan earned her nursing degree from the Tuscarawas Campus of Kent State University. For the past 14 years, she dedicated herself to caring for the residents of Park Village Health Care Center at Dover where her beautiful smile and quiet personality will be sadly missed. Susan will be remembered for her love of gardening and vacationing with her family, and for the spirited competition she maintained with her father and son while fishing together on Leesville Lake. She also maintained an interest in collecting and appreciating antiques. Most of all Susan focused her affection and attention upon her son, Spencer Prete, a junior at Dover High School, who was the pride and joy of her life.She’ll be sadly missed by her parents and her son, as well as her sister, Ann (husband Paul) Bambeck, and her two nephews, John and Jake Bambeck, all of Dover.Friends are invited to call Monday evening from 6PM Â? 8PM in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover where Pastor Jeff Mathews will lead the funeral ceremony for Susan on Tuesday afternoon at 2PM. Interment will follow in Dover Burial Park, where Susan spent many hours walking the grounds and enjoying the beauty of the landscape.
