Sue (Flanner) Dutton, known affectionately as Sunny to all who knew and loved her, passed away unexpectedly Friday, February 18th in her home of an unknown medical condition. She was born in Toledo, the daughter of the late George Carlton Flanner III, and Shirley ( Blinn ) Flanner. She was raised in west Toledo and Sylvania, graduating from Sylvania Northview High School In 1970. She also attended and graduated from The Ohio State University with her Bachelor’s degree in Education in 1974.She met the love of her life John Ryan Dutton, Jr. during college, and they were married in Dover, OH on May 31st, 1975. Sunny and Ryan worked together all these years to build the highly successful Dutton Dental Concepts, where she has been an irreplaceable businesswoman wearing multiple hats, and being the epitome of a multi-tasker. While Ryan kept production afloat, Sunny was responsible for PR, HR, accounting, office management, shipping, and customer service. More importantly, in addition, she was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, and sister. She especially enjoyed the times she shared with family and close friends at Devil’s Lake, Atwood Lake, or on one of her infamous European excursions, the most recent of which was in Pamplona, Spain ” running with the bulls.” There aren’t really any words to describe how much she added to our lives, but she was always the sweetest, most caring, generous and compassionate person present, in addition to being the life of the party wherever she went. She earned her nickname, Sunny, early in life, by carrying the penetrating sunshine of God’s love to everyone in every place she entered. We who knew her and loved her have no idea how to carry on without her, apart from God’s overwhelming grace and strength. She is survived by her loving husband Ryan Dutton, sons, John Ryan ( JR & Mere ) Dutton III & Tyler B Dutton, daughter-in-law to be Katie Perrone, mother, Shirley B. Flanner, brother, George C. Flanner IV, uncle William Blinn of Encino, CA six nephews and three nieces, and many other cherished cousins, relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her sister Kelleigh C.
