Stanley “Ski” Wyatozki

Stanley A. “Ski” Wyatozki, age 98, of Dover, died Saturday, February 21, 2015 in Hennis Care Centre at Dover.

A son of the late Adam and Frances (Bateliza) Witozki, Ski was born at Worcester, Massachusetts on May 5, 1916.

From 1935-1939, Ski served the United States Navy where he obtained the rank of Fire Controlman Third Class, and was stationed aboard the USS North Hampton.

Following his discharge, Ski relocated to California. He worked for 25 years as a civilian employee at Norton and Edwards Air Force Bases as an aircraft repairman. Following his retirement, he returned to work and was employed by the San Jacinto School District at California as a groundskeeper for seven years.

While serving the school, he met a fellow employee by the name of Ola. The two were married in 1973 and relocated to the Tuscarawas Valley to be near family in 1992. Ski was a member of the Foursquare Gospel Church at Dover and was an avid sports fan and statistician; he especially enjoyed baseball, having played semi-pro ball in California.

In addition to his wife, Ski is survived by step-children, Carolene (Dr. Ricardo) Zamudio of Atwood Lake, Ed (Linda) Woody of Arizona, and Earlene Davis of California; eight step-grandchildren and numerous step-great-grandchildren.

Completing the family are two nieces, Karen Nowacki, and Elaine Klucznik; two nephews, Kenny Klucznik and David Ryngiwicz.

In addition to his parents, Ski was preceded in death by siblings, Ciel Klucznik, Sophie LaForce, Thaddeus “Teddy” Wyatozki, Raymond Wyatozki, and Jean Ryngiwicz.

The family will greet guests on Monday, March 2, 2015 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover where Pastor David Wing will lead an 11:00 AM service. Burial will follow in the Dover Burial Park.

Memorial contributions in Ski’s name may be directed to Foursquare Gospel Church, 302 E. Slingluff Avenue, Dover, Ohio 44622.
