Sonney Eugene Leone

Sonney Eugene Leone, 49, New Philadelphia, died Thursday, November 18, 2004 at Mercy Medical Center in Canton. Following an 18-month courageous battle with cancer.Born May 2, 1955, in Dover, Ohio, he was the son of Delores A. Leone and the late Alexander Leone of New PhiladelphiaSonney was a 1973 graduate of New Philadelphia High School and was employed by the former Handy & Harmon plant in Dover and Stevenson Memorials in New Philadelphia.He was a member of the Sacred Heart Church of New Philadelphia and enjoyed motorcycle riding, singing, dancing, canoeing, fishing, hunting, and camping,. He spent many happy hours at his camp by the river.Sonney was known for his outgoing personality and his ability to make his friends and family laugh by telling them one of his many jokes or performing his magic tricks for his nieces and nephews. He had a laugh that will never be forgotten.He is survived by his mother, Delores; sisters, Jessie (Richard) Miller of New Philadelphia, Mary (Jeff) Pendel of Portersville, PA, Dianna (Kenny) Musselman of Wooster, and Nena (William) Henry of Arizona; brothers, Bruce A. Leone of Litchfield, MI and Frank A. (Ruth) Leone of New Philadelphia; nieces, Tracy (Chad) Stratton and Dawn Leone, both of New Philadelphia, Genesee (Chris) Jones of Minerva, and Ashley and Hillary Pendel of Portersville, PA; nephews, Daniel Leone and Jason (Leslie) Miller of New Philadelphia, Alexander Musselman of Wooster, and Scott Pendel of Portersville, PA; nine great nieces and nephews; and his little buddy, Fiddler.He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Myrna (Leone) Chadwick.To honor Sonney’s wishes, cremation will be at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory in New Philadelphia. Private family services will be conducted by the Rev. Hugh B.
