Silvia Reymond, 91, of Cape Coral, Florida and formerly of New Philadelphia, passed away on September 8, 2006 in her home with her husband and daughters at her side.She was born October 28, 1914 in New Philadelphia, Ohio to the late Charles and Anna Strimbu.Silvia was a homemaker and along with her husband, Ed, she founded and operated Reymond Machine, Inc. for 20 years. She was very active in the lives of her children and grandchildren and was a wonderful role model.She was a member of Palmetto Pines Country Club for 30 years where she had a passion for golf, playing her last round at the age of 90. She was a wonderful cook and loved to entertain, read and trade books, and playing cards and mah-jongg. She and her husband were also world wide travelers.She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a great-great grandmother and a special person to all who met and knew her.She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Edgar F. Reymond of the home; three daughters, Silvia Gasser of New Philadelphia, Ohio, Etta Kohl of Cape Coral, Florida and Sidney (George) Shaw of North Fort Myers, Florida; grandchildren, Larry (Pat) Gasser, Bob (Debbie) Gasser, Mike Gasser, Renee (Jeff) Friermor, Brian (Seana) Kohl, Ron (Brenda) Shaw, Dave (Linda) Shaw, Wayne (Lisa) Shaw, Jennifer Smoot and Diana (Bill) Galigher; great grandchildren, Matt Gasser, Brian Gasser, Jesse Gasser, Randy Gasser, Trent Thompson, Natalie (Brandon) McVicker, Erica (Ross Wagner) Gasser, Michelle (Brett) Warner, Tyler Aubgov, Adam Aubgov, David Friermor, Amber (Trevor) Loveday, Jessica (Matt) Druyer, Ben Shaw, Ryan Shaw, Wendy Smith, Misty Smith, Sidney Smith, Lincoln Shaw, Parker Shaw, Shelby Smoot, Mason Smoot, Megan Galigher, Adam Galigher and Jarrett Galigher; great-great grandchildren, Austin Gasser, Brynley McVicker, Bryson McVicker, Payne Gasser, Xavier Druyer, Kalel Smith and Dameon Smith; sisters, Helen Pompey and Ann Hunter, sister-in-law, Emma Strimbu and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.Silvia was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles McMurray, one son, Dave Reymond, one brother, Chuck Strimbu, one sister, Nellie Schoelles and numerous sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.In celebration of Silvia’s life, a memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2006 at 11 a.m. at Geib Funeral Center in Dover, Ohio with Rev. Hugh Berry officiating. Immediately following the service, family will receive friends in the Hospitality Room at Dover where a reception will also be held. Inurnment will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2006 at 3 p.m. in Sharon Moravian Church Cemetery at Tuscarawas.
