Sidney L George

Sidney L. George, 72, of Newcomerstown, passed away February 9, 2014 in Riverside Manor following a period of declining health.

Born in Apollo, Pennsylvania on July 13, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Ada (Hancock) Graham Shaffer.

After graduating from high school, Sidney married her lifelong companion and friend, Kenneth S. George.
Sidney will be deeply missed by her husband; her children, Lori (Mitch) Wolff of Huber Heights, Ohio, Lisa (Bob) Fisher of Newcomerstown, and Matthew (Chris) George of New Philadelphia; her sister Yvonne (Eugene) Shaffer of Apollo; her grandchildren, Trinity Wolff, Kyle Hunt, and Dakota George; step-grandchildren, Hunter Sees, Jesse Heston, and Chase (Shannon) Heston; and her 7 step-grandchildren, Kenley, Turner, and Raylan Heston, and Grace, Reese, Charlie, and Cash Morris. Numerous nieces and nephews complete the family.

In addition to her parents, Sidney was preceded in death by her brother, Tom.

Visitation will be held in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover, 5600 North Wooster Ave., on Wednesday from 1 to 2 p.m. A service celebrating Sidney’s life will begin at 2 p.m. Cremation will follow the service through the care of Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory.
