Shirley R Hines

Shirley R. Hines, 70, of New Philadelphia, passed away in Mercy Medical Center on May 25, 2013, following complications from a surgical procedure.

Born in Sugarcreek on August 23, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Jonas P. and Catherine R. (Deuker) Miller.

On September 27, 1973, Shirley married her loving husband of nearly 40 years, Ronald Glenn Hines, Sr.

Together, they were blessed with four children. She loved hosting family get-togethers and supporting her children and grandchildren. Shirley was also active at the Tuscarawas County Senior Center and enjoyed Bingo.

She is survived by her husband, Ron; her children. Ronald (Kim) Hines, Jr. of Strasburg, Sue Stein of Dover, Tim Hines of Bolivar, and Rodney Davidson of Columbus; her grandchildren, Lauren Hines of New Philadelphia and Steve Stein, Jr. of Dover; her siblings, Vera Jones of Dover, Willie (Traci) Miller of New Philadelphia and Larry Miller of Dennison; her brother-in-law, Don (Deb) Hines of New Philadelphia; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, and her two siblings, Jerry and Alice Miller.

Visitation will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia on Thursday, May 30 from 5 to 7 p.m. A service celebrating her life will begin at 7 p.m. with Pastor Brian Flood officiating.

Cremation will take place through Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory and private inurnment will be held in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens at Dover at a later date.
