Shirley Louise Beahm, age 80 of New Philadelphia, died Thursday, June 14, 2018 in Union Hospital at Dover following a brief illness.
Born in Raleigh County, West Virginia on August 14, 1937, Shirley was a daughter of the late Herbert and Edna Cumins Soulsby and her biological father, George Betzing.
Shirley was a 1955 graduate of the former Midvale High School and was proud to have led the Blue Devils her senior year as the Drum Majorette.
For a period of time Shirley worked at the former Reeves Restaurant which was located in Downtown New Philadelphia. She enjoyed collecting dolls, ordering items from QVC and other shopping networks, decorating her home for Christmas and hosting Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners in her home during her younger years. She enjoyed spending time at the former New Philadelphia Moose and was never afraid to show her orneriness or shy away from sharing what was on her mind.
She is survived by her children, Lee Ann Montgomery of Midvale, Karl Beahm of Texas, Keith (Jane) Beahm of New Philadelphia, Kurt (Maria) Beahm of Florida, and Kristaver (Renee) Beahm of Massillon; 15 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, an expected great-grandson and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Jack J. Beahm; a son, Kraig Beahm, and three sisters, Bardi Schinski, Darlene Fox, and Billi LaBerti.
The family will greet guests one hour prior to services on Thursday, June 21, 2018 from 10 -11 AM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia where Pastor Brian Flood will lead a service celebrating Shirley’s life at 11 AM. Burial will follow in the East Avenue Cemetery at New Philadelphia.
