Shirley DeFrancesco

Shirley DeFrancesco, age 88, of Holland, Ohio and formerly of New Philadelphia, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025, following a period of declining health.

Born in Toledo on March 7, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Joseph and Elizabeth Adah (Wain) Engel.

On August 13, 1983 she married Mario DeFrancesco. Together, they enjoyed 25 years of marriage before his passing in 2008.

Shirley was active in the New Life Church of God for many years. She also spent over 20 years living in Florida.

She is survived by her sons, Edward (Cindy) DeWitt of Wauseon, Ohio, and Kevin (Debbie) DeWitt of Archadia, Florida; 7 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sons, James DeWitt, William DeWitt, and Michael DeWitt; daughter, Caylene Jo DeWitt; and brother, Arthur Engel.

Her cremation care has been entrusted to Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home and Crematory. She will be inurned with her husband Mario in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later date.
