Shirley Davis

Shirley Ann (Regula) Davis, age 83, of Tuscarawas, died peacefully, Monday, October 16, 2023, following a brief illness, while in the care of Community Hospice’s Truman House at New Philadelphia.

Born on May 17, 1940, in Fiat, Ohio, Shirley was a daughter of the late Victor and Jane Medley Regula. She was a 1959 graduate of the former Baltic High School and on July 9, 1961, married Robert E. Davis. Together the couple had five children and shared in 25 years of marriage prior to Robert’s death on June 18, 1987.

Shirley was employed by the former Bag N Save grocery store and Giant Eagle. She enjoyed caring for her family, working on jigsaw and word find puzzles, as well as making greeting cards, and baking.

She is survived by her daughters, Wanda (Joseph) Krocker of Tuscarawas, and Tina (Daniel) DeVecka of New Philadelphia; her grandchildren, Brody (Jennifer) Davis, Zachary DeVecka, Breanna (Colin) Issa, Kayla (Sam) Ehret, Katelyn (Brandon) Schwartz, and Emily DeVecka; seven great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Completing the family are her siblings, Ronald (Loretta) Regula and Vicky (Fred) Yoder all of Sugarcreek as well as her nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Shirley was preceded in death by three sons, Dwayne, Douglas, and Gregory Davis.

The family will greet guests on Thursday, October 19, 2023 from 5:00-7:00 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Brandon Schwartz will lead a service celebrating Shirley’s life in the funeral home’s chapel on Friday, October 20, 2023, at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery at New Philadelphia.
