Sherry Lynn Paris, 61, of New Philadelphia, died Friday, December 10, 2010 in her home following an extended illness.A daughter of Eileen (Couch) Turrin of New Philadelphia and the late Frank Torch, Sherry was born December 24, 1948 in Union Hospital at Dover, Ohio.Sherry was a 1967 graduate of New Philadelphia High School and was a member of the First Church of God at New Philadelphia.She enjoyed completing crossword puzzles but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Sherry was especially fond of family gatherings and barbecues.Surviving is a daughter, Michelle Keller and her companion, Doug Detweiler of Dover; a son, David Keller of Indiana; a granddaughter, Tiana Dowdel; her brother, Randy Torch and his wife, Diane of Dover and two nieces, Jessica Torch and Brooke Jasper.Sherry is also survived by many extended family members and friends who include the Engeldinger and Couch families; her dear friends, Elsie and Ronnie Demeo of Mineral City and her dog, Sassy.In addition to her father, Sherry was preceded in death by her grandparents, Frances and George Couch and her best friend, Kay Lundsford.In keeping with Sherry’s wishes, cremation will take place through the care of Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory at Dover and a memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at 2 p.m. in the First Church of God at New Philadelphia with Pastor Matt Roe officiating. A memorial reception will follow at the church.Contributions may be made in Sherry’s memory to the First Church of God, 824 Tuscarawas Avenue NW, New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
