Shelia Kay Trachsel, age 69, of New Philadelphia, died peacefully, on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, in her residence following a period of declining health.
Born in Tornado, West Virginia, Shelia was one of seven children born to the late Orville and Mary Nicholas Sizemore.
Shelia was a graduate of Indian Valley North High School and worked for a period of time in the healthcare industry before joining Republic Steel at Canton.
As an animal lover, Shelia has rescued many dogs through the years. She also enjoyed gambling, playing bingo, and being with friends at the Dover Eagles and Tusky VFW.
In addition to her parents, Shelia was preceded in death by her first husband, Tom Bell; her second husband, Gerry Trachsel, and her siblings, Letha Weindhardt, Connie Spears, Yvonnia Sizemore, Michael Sizemore, and Jack Sizemore.
She is survived by her sister, Carol Tice of New Philadelphia; her companion, Ross Porter of Dover; brothers-in-law, Richard Weinhardt, Arnold Spears, Dale (Sandy) Trachsel, and Steve (Ann Maffitt) Trachsel all of New Philadelphia, her step-children, Kevin (Tonya) Bell, Kimberly (Gary) McRobie, Kristin (Chad) Swinderman, Duane (Susan) Trachsel, and Chris (Lenee) Trachsel and their families as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In keeping with Shelia’s wishes there will be no public visitation or services. The Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory is handling arrangements. Inurnment will take place in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at Rittman.
