Shelby Jean Tristano, 70, of Roswell, died Saturday, December 9, 2006 at Union Hospital in Dover.Born April 19, 1936 in Roswell, she was a daughter of the late John and Dessie (Wells) Fox.After completing her education at Midvale High School, Shelby married the love of her life, Angelo on December 13, 1952. On Wednesday, they would have celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary. Together, they raised five children. Shelby dearly loved her family and spent the majority of her life caring for them. She was a fabulous cook and always had a multi-course meal ready for anyone who stopped by the house. She also had talented hands making knitted items and reeling in the large fish at Clendenning Lake where her family had a cabin. Shelby also enjoyed reading romantic novels and caring for her flowers. In addition to her husband, Shelby will be greatly missed by her children, Darlene (Larry) Austin of Freeport , Terry (Carolyn) Tristano of Stillwater, Lori Tristano of Uhrichsville, Tony Tristano of Roswell, and Julie (Howard) Lute of Roswell; 20 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and two sisters, Grace Nicholson of New Philadelphia and Marsha (Earl) Johnson of Dover. She was greatly anticipating the births of two great-grandchildren.Shelby was preceded in death by her parents and her three brothers, Arnold “Cubby”, Lester and Gary Fox.Visitation will be held Thursday, December 14, 2006 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A service celebrating Shelby’s life will be held in the funeral home on Friday beginning at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow the service at Sherrodsville Memorial Gardens. Family and friends are then invited back to the Geib Family Center, located adjacent to the funeral home in New Philadelphia where a meal will be served.
