Sheila F. Duvall

Sheila Fern Duvall, 73, of Dover, died Wednesday, April 1, 2015 in Community Hospice at New Philadelphia following a period of declining health.

A daughter of the late Bruce and Isabell (Kuhns) Mizer, Sheila was born November 24, 1941 at Cleveland, Ohio.

As a child, Sheila was confirmed in the former Jerusalem United Church of Christ. She was primarily a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her family. However, she did serve as a private home health aide over the years.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Lori Cain of New Philadelphia; her grandchildren, Cady and Nicklaus Cain; her sister, Nadene (Tom) Maurer of Dover; a special aunt, Helen Kuhns of New Philadelphia; a dear friend, Sandy Horn of Winfield; her dog, Bear and many extended family members and friends.

Sheila was preceded in death by her parents, her longtime loving companion, Danny Hilton and a grandson, Zachary Cain.

In keeping with Sheila’s wishes, cremation will take place through the care of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A memorial service celebrating Sheila’s life will be held on Monday, April 6, 2015 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Brian Flood officiating. The family will greet guests one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Following the service a luncheon will be held in the Geib Family Center at New Philadelphia. Inurnment will be held in Jerusalem Cemetery at a later date.

The family would like to thank the staff of both Community Hospice of Tuscarawas County and Hennis Care and Retirement Centre at Dover for their loving and compassionate care for Sheila.

The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, that contributions be made in Sheila’s memory to Community Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 716 Commercial Avenue SW, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663 or to a charity of one’s choice.
