Sharon Joan Shock

December 5, 1947 — September 28, 2015

Sharon Joan Shock, age 67, of Dover and formerly of Navarre died peacefully, Monday, September 28, 2015, in Union Hospital at Dover following a sudden illness.

Born on December 5, 1947, at Jacobsburg, Ohio, Sharon was raised at Shadyside, Ohio; the youngest of 10 children born to the late Katherine (Kemp) Brown.

Following her graduation from Louisville High School, Sharon settled in Navarre and retired from Nickles Bakery following 30 years of service. Sharon’s life centered on her family; her grandchildren were her pride and joy and there was nothing she loved to do more than spoiling each of them. A lively soul, Sharon embraced technology and loved having the newest gadgets. To her family, she was “tech support” and was often called upon by her own grandchildren for help.

Additionally, Sharon loved playing cards, reading, and watching movies. However, her most favorite pastime was listening to Classic Rock, and the sounds of Pink Floyd, Bruce Springsteen, and The Rolling Stones, just to name a few.

She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Sonni (James) Carrick of Dover; her son, Stephen (Marianne) Cincinat, II of Columbus; and her beloved grandchildren, James R. (Alysia) Carrick, Ryan Carrick, Katie Carrick, Ray (Shelle) Taylor and Natasha Taylor. Known as Grandma-Great to her pride and joy and partner in crime, Sharon leaves behind by her great-grandson, Asher James “A.J.” Carrick. Completing the family are her brothers, James, Charles “Sonny”, Tom, and her sisters, Pat, Ruby, and Charlotte, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Sharon is preceded in death by her former husband, Stephen Cincinat, I, a brother, Bill, and her sisters, Pauline and Janet “Minnie”.

A celebration of Sharon’s life will be held on Sunday, October 4, 2015 from 3-5 PM in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover where a candle service will conclude the gathering of family and friends at 5 PM. Cremation care has been provided by Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory.
