Selma Freehahn

Selma “Sally” Freehahn, 68, of New Philadelphia, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 4, 2007. As a result of Sally’s passing, she was able to improve the quality of life for someone else through organ and tissue donation with LifeBanc.A daughter of the late John and Martha (Newton) Edwards, Sally was born March 5, 1939 at Goshen, Ohio.She was a member of Goshen Community Church of the Nazarene and a graduate of Midvale High School.Sally enjoyed her life as a wife, mother and sister, but most importantly, she enjoyed her life as a grandmother.She is survived by her husband, James A. Freehahn of New Philadelphia; children, James (Kevin) Freehahn of Dover, Michael (Diane) Freehahn and Peggy (Mike) Freehahn both of New Philadelphia; grandchildren, Michael (Stevie) Matthews of North Carolina, David Freehahn, Lisa Freehahn, Kerian Meehan, Brooke Meehan, Michelle Hostetler, Christy Hostetler all of New Philadelphia and Ashley Freehahn Blatt of Huntington, West Virginia; sisters, Dora (Bob) Boyer of Phoenix, Arizona, Cora Patterson, Bernie (Glenn) Shull and Mary Lou (Ken) Carroll all of New Philadelphia and two nieces and six nephews.Sally was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Jean Goss; two brothers-in-law, Lloyd Patterson and Robert Goss and two nieces.Family and friends may call on Sunday, October 7, 2007 from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover.
