Sean J. Herman, 26, of New Philadelphia, died Friday, July 26, 2002, in Scio, Ohio.Born, December 13, 1975, in Dover, Ohio, he is the son of Jim and Maureen (Tufford) Herman, of New Philadelphia, who survive. Sean was a 1994 graduate of New Philadelphia High School, and he attended the University of Akron. He was an insurance salesman for Pretorius-Coleman Insurance in Dover, and a member of the New Philadelphia Elks Lodge #510. Sean was an avid golfer and belonged to several golf leagues including the New Philadelphia Elks Golf League. He also loved watching sports with his friends.Surviving is a sister, Elizabeth J. Herman; brother, Ryan Herman, both of New Philadelphia; paternal grandfather, Paul K. Herman of Dover; Aunts and Uncles, Bill Tufford of New Philadelphia, Brenda and Steve Jenkins of New Philadelphia, David and Mary Jane Walton of Dover, Tim and Sally Simpson of Goldsboro, NC, Michael J. Herman of Orlando, Fl, Robert C. and Jill Herman of Beach City; several loving cousins; and faithful companion Speedie.He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, William E. and Barbara Tufford and paternal grandmother, Lois V. Herman.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2002, at 11 AM at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home, New Philadelphia, with Pastor David Wing officiating. Following the service, a gathering of family and friends will be held in the Geib Family Center, adjacent to the funeral home. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2002, from 2-9 PM with the family present from 5-9 PM. The New Philadelphia Elks Lodge # 510 will conduct an Elks Service, Tuesday, at 8:45 PM.
