Scott A. Dalpiaz

Scott A. Dalpiaz, 34, of Bowerston and formerly of New Philadelphia, died Friday, July 26, 2002 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.Born in Dover, he was the son of Richard A. and F. Annie Scolati Dalpiaz of New Philadelphia and a 1986 graduate of New Philadelphia High School. Scott was employed as a truck driver for Swiss Valley Oil in Sugarcreek and had formerly been employed by Beachy Trucking in Sugarcreek. A member of the New Philadelphia Elks #510 and an avid golfer and bowler, Scott participated in several leagues through out the area and as a member of the Elk’s bowling league, he had bowled two perfect 300 games.In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Brian A. Dalpiaz of Apex, North Carolina and Eric A. Dalpiaz of New Philadelphia; maternal grandmother, Margaret A. Scolati of New Philadelphia; paternal grandparents, Forrest and Sarah Betche of New Philadelphia; aunts and uncles, Ken and Sheri Betche of Dayton, Mary and Tom Leeper of Dover, Betty Scolati of New Philadelphia, Joe and Jean Scolati of Baltimore, Maryland and Mike and Jill Scolati of New Philadelphia; numerous loving relatives, cousins and friends and his faithful companion, Sierra. His maternal grandfather, Hilary Joe Scolati, precedes him in death.A funeral mass celebrating Scott’s life will be held Thursday, August 1, 2002 at 11 AM at Sacred Heart Church in New Philadelphia with Msgr. George J. Schlegel officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in New Philadelphia. A reception following the committal service will be held at the New Philadelphia Elks Lodge, 1108 Union Avenue NW, New Philadelphia, Ohio. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 31, 2002 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home in New Philadelphia with the New Philadelphia Elks conducting services at 6:45 PM and a Christian Wake service will be held at 8:30 PM.
