Sarah “Sally” Tidrick, age 86, of Midvale, died peacefully Monday afternoon, January 5, 2009, in the Country Club Retirement Center at Dover.A daughter of the late George and Wanda (Stafford) Jones, Sally was born in Monroe Township, Harrison County, Ohio on February 13, 1922.Following graduation from Midvale High School, on March 28, 1942, Sally married her husband of sixty-five years, Mr. Raymond Tidrick. The couple resided in Midvale throughout their married lives until Ray’s passing on February 4, 2008.For more than 24 years Sally worked for the United States Postal Service at Midvale. During times of vacation Sally enjoyed camping, fishing and traveling with Ray.While Sally and Ray never had children of their own, they had numerous nieces and nephews that they supported throughout their childhoods by attending baseball games and band activities. As they grew, the couple continued their support of their family by being in attendance at graduations and later weddings.Additionally, Sally was a lifetime member of the former Midvale VFW and was an active participant in the ladies auxiliary for many years.She will be greatly missed by her family that includes a step-brother, Charles “Chuck” Jewell of Barnhill, Ohio; and the many nieces and nephews that will remember her as a very loving person.In addition to her parents and husband, Sally was preceded in death by her step-father, Charles Jewell; a brother, Harry Jones and two step-brothers, John Jewell and William Jewell.Pastor Dale Ickes will lead a service celebrating Sally’s life on Friday, January 9, 2009 at 10:30 AM in the Chapel of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. The family will receive friends there one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Ridgecrest Memory Gardens at Dover.Memorial contributions may be sent in Sally’s name to a charity of the donor’s choice.
